Spotlight on EES – the Elsevier Editorial System

Welcome to our new program pulling together training materials for editors, authors and reviewers to help you get maximum benefit from the Elsevier Editorial System’s range of features and functionality supporting the submission and peer review process.

Our growing series of bite-size live online trainings will highlight tips and tricks for Editors, Reviewers and Authors. Topics are selected based on frequently asked questions to our Author Support Team and EES Trainers.


EES 6.1 Upgrade – Coming Soon!

Live online training from experienced Elsevier trainers.

Journals on EES will soon be upgraded to EES 6.1. The upgrade will bring changes to the reviewer selection process and greater flexibility to editor assignment, and will provide a new “look and feel” to familiar features like Classifications. We offer a short overview of the new features in an Adobe Captivate slideshow and invite you to attend one of the training sessions below for an in-depth look at the specific new features.

Description: This session will cover changes to the author’s submission process, including the new “Author Questionnaire” feature (a modification of the Custom Submission Question feature) and the new ability to impose a specific order of source files at the Attach Files step.

Description: This session will describe changes to editor assignment and unassignment features, specifically the option to select from different letters when assigning an editor and the new ability to unassign an editor from a submission even if the submission is under review.

Spotlight on EES Module 19: EES 6.1 Upgrade – Linking Submissions and Publish With ID

Description: This session will introduce two new features in EES 6.1: “Linked Submissions” and “Publish with ID.” These features will make it easier for editors to group submissions that should be linked (such as special issues or Letters to the Editor) as well as identify submissions that should be published together.
