Knowledge discovery, organisation and sharing using tags

Abstract

Covering the themes of discovery, organisation and sharing, this session outlines practical ways librarians and researchers can use tags, or user-made taxonomies, to reduce information overload and create new knowledge. The training will feature real examples from the web and other dimensions.

In this session you’ll learn how to use tags to:

  • Organise information and create relationships between records in ways that are meaningful to you and others you work with.
  • Share and collaborate with colleagues in similar or related fields.
  • Discover new information and build on it to create new knowledge.
